In the creation of the RiDE micro apartment community, Christopher Carvell architects PC (CCA) found Leonardo da Vinci’s words inspirational:” Small rooms or dwellings set the mind on the right path, large ones cause it to go astray.”

Approaching the design of 84 micro, studio, live-work units in a mixed-use, fi ve-story complex came with many layers of infl uential discovery – the location in the heart of the booming River North (RiNo) Art District, the close proximity to transit – Zeppelin Station, 38th & Blake A-Line Platform, and the District’s industrial
aesthetic.

Carvell Architects developed a structural system to accomodate a 13-foot fl oor-to-fl oor height, deliveing high open ceilings, exposed duct work, and large windows creating daylight penetration from the entry through the living area.
